Melting Pot NYC 2nd Anniversary Celebration
In the spring of 2002, a group of like-minded individuals whose love of quality dance-music brought them to common dance venues, banded together to form a clan whose purpose was to come up with ways to expose underground dance music, specifically soulful deep house music to the masses. It’s inaugural and successful event took place on July 3, 2002. Two years later so far so good. This edition of the Melting Pot NYC celebrated 2 years of intertwining music with art, dance, design, film, and poetry. The performer of note was GaryMichaelWade whose unique energy as a singer has grace the underground dance community for two decades. His much talked about new release “Freedom” and soulful house classic “Deep Down” were among the songs performed during this fete. Also, to display its diversity, the Melting Pot had guest DJ performances by Soto (Dat Party), Eddie S (Men of Rhythm), Doug Gallardo (In Spir’) and resident Kervyn Mark. Music from each added fuel to the fire to make this the hottest Melting Pot to date!
