THE MELTING POT NYC RETURNS AUG. 18

For those of you who have been longing for the next Melting Pot event, we sincerely apologize for our absence. As you can see below our resident DJs Kervyn Mark and Kamala are representing all over New York City and we have recommended soulful summer events for your enjoyment. We are still searching for a permanent venue; a home from which we can operate. However, we are proud to announce that we have a very special late summer program for you, beginning with Loftkid Luis' Birthday celebration on Saturday, August 18th. Loftkid Luis is a beloved member of the Melting Pot and a staunch supporter of every house music endeavor out there. He recently spearheaded the fundraising efforts behind the House Coalition's involvement in Dance Parade 2007 and for his valuable contribution we are extremely grateful. You can usually see him at various house music events spreading the love and positive vibes, shaking his tambourine, beating his drums or cowbells, sprinkling baby powder on the floor and generally enriching the experience for everyone around him. The theme is naturally "Doctor Love". You are encouraged to wear red or purple for this one. 

The DJ and talent lineup was carefully selected to ensure an all out dance party reminiscent of the early scene of the Loft and the Paradise Garage and representative of the underground as it is today. The venue will be the beautiful loft-style Stepping Out Dance Studios (37 West 27th St, 9th Floor, between 6th and Broadway). On the decks; DJ Dat Gurl aka Curly (Dat Party), Joey Llanos (Paradise Garage) and our Resident DJ Kervyn Mark. There will be a special live performance by Lorie Caval (Bang the Party; Indigo) and a special photo exhibit by Maria Cameron. The vibe begins at 10pm and there will be an open bar from 10pm-11pm for the early birds. Tickets will be sold in advance for $10 and at the door for $20. For now purchase your advanced tickets from a Melting Pot member at any of our recommended events below or from Dance Tracks (91 E 3rd St, New York, NY 10003, (t) 212-260-8729) and receive a free promotional CD while supplies last.
